Rosemarie Liberti (Dicicco) passed away on September 2nd 2022 in her sleep at the age of 96 in her East Boston home where she lived for more than sixty years. Born to John and Caroline Irene (Maruzzi) Dicicco in Somerville, Massachusetts, she was predeceased by her brother Ralph Dicicco and her beloved first grandson, Tad. Known affectionately to her loved ones as Rosie, she was the wife of the late Galdino Liberti, whom she married in 1949. She is survived by her son Terence and his wife Evelyn of Saugus, her son Lawrence and his wife Christine of Peabody, her daughter Judith Baxter of Tewksbury, her son Dean and his wife Dolores of Norfolk, her son Daniel of Winthrop, and her son David of East Boston. She was beloved by twelve grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren.
Rosie provided a safe haven for everyone who walked through her door. Friends of the family always felt at home in her house in Jeffries Point. No matter what kinds of difficulties they were experiencing in their own homes, they always knew they could count on Rosie for a warm hug and an even warmer meal. Her gravy and stuffed calamari were legendary from Brophy to Piers, and no one left her home without feeling well-fed and well-loved. Rosie was a devout Catholic and parishioner of Our Lady of The Assumption in East Boston. She enjoyed gathering with her Club Girls on Tuesdays and playing Hearts on Saturday nights with Gunga and Queenie, and she relished her trips to Foxwoods with the Jeffries Point Senior Center. Rosie’s capacity for love was only exceeded by how much she was loved by others. Ma will be remembered as a loving, honest, generous, and accepting person whose affection will be felt for generations.
