Duane C. Olson of Charlotte, NC formerly of Revere passed peacefully at the age of 81 on October 22, 2020, with his loving grandson Zach by his side.

Born in Minnesota, Duane was raised alongside his siblings in North Dakota by his late parents Percy and Mary Olson.

He was a proud Veteran that served in the US Naval Forces from 1956-1965, until he met his late wife Susan Olson who had two young daughters, Maryanne and Dianne. Duane was a dedicated and loving husband, father, uncle and grandfather (Papa). He devoted his entire life to his family. He was a loyal friend and a kind man. He was a nature lover, animal lover and nick-named Dr. Doolittle by his family. He enjoyed gardening, painting, the outdoors and learning. He was an avid New England sports fan. He was a teacher of life, a great mentor, and will be missed by many.

Duane is survived by his daughters Cindy DeSimone and her husband Rob of Saugus, MA, Maryanne McCarthy and Dianne Rogers, both of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by his two loving and devoted grandchildren, Nicole DeSimone of Saugus, MA and Zach Rogers of Charlotte, NC.
